Bloodlines

You all know how much I enjoy old photos. Well, these are even more special to me - they're a tangible reminder that the love of horses galloping in my blood is a family legacy, something that binds me to the generations who came before and gives me a sense of belonging. Every family has an inheritance in one form or another; this is one of ours.

  8. Very nice site, Jem. I too, am a collector of many different things both vintage and new, love books, photography, color, etc, etc. I just spent quite a bit of time going back through your old posts and was entranced.

  12. These photographs are beautiful! It's so funny to think how we are all made to wear hard hats, when not so long ago you could go jumping without one, as demonstrated in your gorgeous collection! Even more special when it's your own family :) xxx

  18. That's a great inheritance to have - I was always the only one in my family obsessed with horses, and because my parents just thought I was being ridiculous, nothing really came of it. :/

  19. How fantastic - that first jumping picture is amazing! Luckily for me my Mum had also been through the adolescent horse madness and so was keen to revive her interest when I expressed one. We used to get lessons together.
