Sundays I have never been able to get the hang of (if you got the Arthur Dent reference there you deserve a piece of cake), it's a legacy left by years of 'school tomorrow' malaise; half finished homework, prep and essays, the wait for the Sunday roast, or chilly train journeys back to Uni from visiting home for the weekend. Yet Sunday is a good day to blog.
Being a rainy day sort of girl I ventured out on Wednesday and was soaked to the bone on my charity shopping expedition, can't help but love coming home to a hot shower and change of clothes - all the better if there are pretty spoils to peruse over a steaming cup of Rose Garden tea. Two of my favourite finds this week were of a rosy persuasion; a vintage beaded necklace and a 1970s copy of Roses in Colour - totally wild about the brilliantly retro photography and illustrations.
Burning a tealight or two on a gloomy day is a happymaking thing, I like to use vintage shot glasses or desert bowls although on occasion the charity shops will yield a super cheap tealight holder for a few pence and I'll bring that home too - the clear, faceted glass on this one is extra-twinkly. Anyone who knows me well would agree I'm not a very pink person, though it seems there's an exception to this when it comes to pressed glass trinket dishes - who knew! It looked nice enough holding my super thrifty rose beads but I think I prefer it turned upside down as a stand for my 20p miniature teapot.
T's Dad Nick visited bearing gifts of a pair of vintage cameras found at a car boot sale, I couldn't thank him enough as they are beautiful, clearly the man has eagle eyes and thrifty skills! The old camera collection is ever expanding so I've been housing them all around the house on windowsills and bookshelves.
Hope you have all been having a lovely weekend,
