Flickr ♥

I'm what you'd call a learner when it comes to photography, I'm now familiar with the jargon of ISOs, shutter speeds and filters but there is so much more to master and I get completely engrossed in practising.  It's funny how photos have become such a substantial part of everyday life for me when I grew up in a family who weren't particularly snap happy and never owned a video camera.  Flickr has been a massive source of inspiration - I see so many stunning images on there that I wish I'd captured myself and it motivates me to keep trying. Here are a few of my favourites, if you click the photo it will take you directly to the source.

  1. these youve chosen to post are definitely amazing, brilliant images. but yours are also pretty amazing, I think you have less to learn than you think you do. You have the eye - thats the main thing!

  5. I'm so glad you are pursuing your photography talent further. So many people have fancy cameras now, but a flair for photography cannot be learned.
Your images are beautiful, the gold detail almost looks super-imposed in the tea cup. Love the geisha girl and the pendant, really striking.
Look forward to even more wonderful shots on the blog.

Ps, my family didn't take many photos/ have a video camera either.

  9. I know nothing of photography (as is probably sadly obvious), but I do enjoy it as a medium and love other people's photographs. You definitely have a talent and it lifts your blog way up above others. x

  11. Isn't it the best fun in the world! I don't really know too much about the technical side I just think the universe is MAGIC, through my own eyes, through a car window, on a movie screen etc... and through a camera lens, just magic. Your photos are gorgeous! Now that I think about it, there is something more magical to me about 'amateur' photography. I am in awe of most professional images but they have a feeling of the helping hand of technology and while that is a wonderful craft in itself, I just love the raw, true snapshot of the magical NOW. I've had this argument with me brother! His main issue is clarity and I love some of my blurry or out of focus photos! What do you think? Oops, running late, off to work!
