Coronation and Jubilee

I'm not sure what it is about coronation and jubilee memorabilia that I like so much, but the moment I saw this tin commemorating the Queen's coronation on eBay I knew I had to have it!

It currently houses some of my button collection!

I then came across a mug celebrating the Queen's Silver Jubilee - 25 years on the throne - in the local British Heart Foundation charity shop and at £1.50 I had to have that too!  Perhaps it is the sense of heritage about these pieces which draws me in; like many British people I have an affection for the Queen and now that she is within striking distance of Queen Victoria's record as longest reigning monarch at 63 years I hope she surpasses it.

Take care,

Jem xXx

Love the ebay/charity shop finds, although I can't say I'm a huge fan of the Queen, well I guess I like her a normal amount, anyway enough rambling...I've joined your followers xxx

  4. Jem,
I wanted to thank you for your kind comment over at iStudio! I came by to check out your blog - it's great. I love old things, history, and England. My sister and I traveled to England in 1995. It was a fantastic trip. I found the architecture and museums amazing! I've been dreaming of a trip back ever since. For now, I'll visit your site for a touch of England:)
